Let it snow

Considered watching Hotel Rwanda. I think it was on Channel 4. Then the announcer introduced it as 'the story of a terrible genocide', which quite put me off. Had it been the story of a jolly genocide, I might have felt differently.

To balance the facetiousness - this reminded me of hearing a BBC news piece last week about falling standards of literacy in the UK. A
rent-a-prof was wheeled out, who claimed that English was a
particularly tricky language to learn. Quick as a flash, the reporter
countered that this couldn't be true since the language is spoken
worldwide. I admired his grasp of history. The Caribbean is, after all,
an archipelago of language schools.

There was nothing for it but to go outside and play in the snow.
